In Romans 2:4 Paul tells us;“4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?”

So we see it’s not by the hammering of the law and the pointing out of sin that causes man to have a change of the heart and mind, but it is the goodness of God. So why doesn’t religion trust the grace of God to change a mans life and give empowerment over sin? Well maybe this is why; Romans 4 “28 Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. 29 But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now.”

In Genesis 39 we read, “7 And it came to pass after these things, that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me. 8 But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; 9 There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” How did Joseph know to run away? How did he know adultery was a sin? Why was he so focused on not sinning against God? Was it the law? NO! For the law had not been given.  What was it? Glad you asked! It was the goodness of God, just like Paul tells us!

Genesis 39 “2 And the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. 3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand.”

Mercy triumphs over judgement every time! Thank and praise Him always for His marvelous grace! I love you all very much!(NLM)
