I was listening to someone teach last night from this verse. I knew he was missing something. He shared....
2 Corinthians 4 “13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;”
Then he shared the first word in verse 14, "knowing."
“14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.”
He went on to say we have the same spirit of faith so we believe and then we speak but only after we know that we know. He referenced healing and whatever else the need. We'll address speaking tomorrow ;)
Firstly there is a semi colon. I slept through most of my English class's but did remember what a semi colon does. It signifies a pause, connecting two separate clauses. So "knowing" is part of the second clause!
So in context Paul in verse 11-14 is saying (As always the Just live by faith) We all have the same spirit of faith, we believe and we speak!(For Paul this always means with the heart we believe unto righteousness and with the mouth we confess unto salvation, Romans 10:10) Then He says "Knowing" as God raised Jesus and declared Him righteous He also raised us up declaring us righteous! Romans 4:25!
For Paul and for us righteousness is vitally important! We know we are righteous through faith in Jesus Christ! Because we know we are righteous through Jesus we are to continue believing it and confessing it! Remember GRACE REIGNS THROUGH RIGHTEOUSNESS! Proclaim your righteousness and let grace reign in your life!(NLM)
