Repentance-remorse, contrition, contriteness, penitence, regret, ruefulness, remorsefulness, shame, guilt.  Here lies the challenge, THIS IS NOT THE BIBLICAL DEFINITION OF REPENTANCE!

Repentance-met-an'-oy-ah;a change of mind, a reversal of direction.  This is the biblical definition.

Remission-af'-es-is-freedom; (figurative) pardon: —deliverance, forgiveness, liberty, remission.

Confessing-  ex-om-ol-og-eh'-o;
1. to confess 2. to profess a.acknowledge openly and joyfully b. to one's honour: to celebrate, give praise to

Mark 1   “4 John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.”
"5 And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all baptized of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sins.”

Now you know why the multitudes came to John. They came as they heard the gospel of the kingdom of God! They could be pardoned, set free, delivered from all sin. They came thankfully and joyfully!  They left with a new direction! Is it any wonder why the religious leaders were angered? All this happened without the preaching of adherence to the law of Moses for justification from sin! News flash;nothing has changed!

It's the goodness of God that leads to repentance Romans 2:4 & The law came by Moses but Grace and Truth by Jesus Christ John 1:17

The gospel should bring joy and thankfulness to the heart that hears it! I love you all very much!(NLM)
