KEEP MY COMMANDMENT

John 14 “15 ¶ If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

John 14 “21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”

When you read this there seems to be a performance clause.  Hmmm, but how can that be? Grace is all about what Jesus has done and does, if it depends on performance it means this New Covenant has the same fault as the Old!

The word command in the Greek is simply-en-tol-ay'; a charge, command. So what could be our Lords charge? Well, we find His charge in verses 1, 10, 11, 12 and 29 with verse 12 being the verse many are most familiar; “12 ¶ Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that “BELIEVETH” on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”

So if you love the Lord you will KEEP HIS CHARGE! BELIEVE! Loving Him is a reflex of believing Him! When you believe = greater things will be done, and as with Jesus it will be someone else doing the work; John 14 “10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.”

I love you all very much!(NLM)
